Plumbing & bathrooms

One team, one schedule, one person to ring

The reason bathroom projects go wrong is rarely the tiling — it is five trades who do not talk to each other and a start date that keeps moving. We manage the whole thing, from strip-out to the final bead of silicone.

Budget configurator

What is a bathroom like yours going to cost?

Most bathroom enquiries arrive with a budget that cannot buy the job being described, and it is kinder to say so here than on day one. Build yours up and see a realistic band and timeline.
How big is the room?
What level of finish?
Anything else involved?

These are the things that most often push a bathroom over the budget people had in mind. Better to know now.

Indicative budget

£3,750£4,800

Around 8 working days on site

Solid mid-range suite, ceramic tiling, quality sealed finish.

Included in this figure

  • Full strip-out and disposal380

Includes labour, materials, waste removal and VAT. It assumes we supply the suite — bring your own and the figure drops, though we will tell you honestly whether what you have chosen will work with your water pressure.

The schedule

You will know which day you are without the room

Every bathroom quote comes with this plan, filled in with real dates. If something slips, you hear it from us first.

If it is your only bathroom, say so at the survey. We sequence the job so the toilet is back in use as early as possible, and we will tell you honestly which nights you may want to be elsewhere.

  1. Day 1

    Strip out

Old suite, tiles and flooring out and away the same day. Water isolated, temporary facilities discussed before we start.

  2. Day 2

    First fix

Pipework and waste runs altered to the new layout, electrics chased in for lighting, shaver points and extraction.

  3. Day 3

    Walls, floor and tanking

Boarding, levelling and — in a wet room or shower area — full tanking. This is the layer nobody sees and everybody regrets skipping.

  4. Days 4–5

    Tiling

Set out from the focal point rather than the corner, so cuts land where they are least visible. Grouted and left to cure.

  5. Days 6–7

    Second fix

Suite, taps, shower and radiator fitted and connected. Everything pressure tested before it goes near a wall.

  6. Final day

    Seal, clean and hand over

Silicone finished properly, site cleaned, waste removed, and we walk you round it together before we take the sheets up.

The bits that decide whether it lasts

Where bathrooms actually fail

Nobody rings up five years later about the colour of the tiles. They ring up about water getting somewhere it should not.
  • Tanking, properly

Behind the tiles in any shower area, a waterproof membrane — not just water-resistant board. It is a few hundred pounds at fit and thousands to put right later.

  • Pressure checked first

We test your flow rate before you choose a shower. There is no point specifying a rain head the supply cannot feed — we will tell you before you buy it.

  • Falls and waste runs

Every waste needs a proper fall and access. Get it wrong and you get a slow shower tray and a smell nobody can find.

  • Extraction that works

An extractor sized for the room and ducted outside, not into the loft. Most bathroom mould problems are ventilation problems.

We supply everything

Trade accounts with the merchants usually beat retail prices, and it means one point of responsibility: if something turns up damaged or short, that is our problem to solve, not yours to chase. You still choose everything — we just do the ordering and take the delivery.

Or you buy it yourself

Completely fine, and plenty of people do. Send us the list before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it will work with your pressure, your pipework and your room — a rain shower on a weak main is the mistake we see most. We will fit what you have chosen and charge for labour and consumables only.

Straight answers

Bathroom questions

Timings, supply, pressure and payment — the four things everyone asks at the survey.
All questions
How long does a new bathroom take to fit?
A straightforward family bathroom refit is usually five to eight working days from strip-out to final seal, assuming the layout stays broadly the same. Moving the soil pipe, tanking a wet room or replastering adds time. We give you a day-by-day schedule before we start so you know which days you are without the room.
Do you supply the bathroom, or do I?
Either works. We can supply everything through our merchants, which usually means better prices than retail and one point of responsibility if something arrives damaged. If you would rather choose and buy your own suite, that is completely fine — we will tell you honestly whether what you have picked will work with your water pressure and pipework before you order it.
Why is my water pressure so poor?
Poor pressure has three common causes: a partially closed or seized stopcock, a restricted or undersized incoming main, or scale and debris in the outlet itself. It is worth checking the simple things first — try a different tap, and check whether it affects hot only, cold only, or both, because that tells you a lot about where the restriction is.
Is the price you quote the price I pay?
Yes. Installation and bathroom quotes are fixed and written down, including the boiler, materials, labour, removal of the old unit and commissioning. The only thing that changes the price is you changing the scope, or something genuinely hidden turning up behind a wall — and if that happens we stop, explain it and agree the cost with you before carrying on.
How do I pay, and do you take card?
We invoice on completion and accept bank transfer and card. For larger installations we take a deposit to secure the appliance and the date, with the balance due once the system is commissioned and you are happy with it. Every invoice is itemised.
