Using this website
The information on this site is provided in good faith and for general guidance. Guide prices, calculators, sizing tools and fault guides are estimates and starting points — they are not quotations and not a substitute for an engineer looking at your property. Boiler sizing in particular depends on a measured mains flow rate that no web form can know.
Where this site describes safety steps, they are general guidance for a competent adult and stop short of any work that legally requires a registered engineer. If you smell gas, stop and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
Quotations
- Written quotations for installations and bathroom work are fixed, not estimates.
- Quotations remain valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise on the document itself.
- A quotation covers only what is listed on it. If you change the scope, or something genuinely concealed is discovered once work has started — buried pipework, undisclosed asbestos, structural defects — we will stop, explain it, and agree any change in price with you in writing before continuing.
- Diagnostic visits are chargeable. Where a repair follows from that visit, the diagnostic fee is credited against it.
Appointments and access
- Someone aged 18 or over must be present to give us access and to receive the handover, particularly for gas work where we are required to demonstrate the appliance is safe.
- Please give us as much notice as you can if you need to cancel or move an appointment. A wasted journey where nobody is home may be charged.
- We need safe, clear access to the boiler, meter, stopcock and any loft space involved. If access has to be created, that is quoted separately.
The work
- All gas work is carried out by engineers on the Gas Safe Register, and oil work to OFTEC standards.
- Installations are notified and certificated as required, and manufacturer warranties are registered in your name.
- Where we find an appliance that is Immediately Dangerous or At Risk we are obliged to act on it. With your permission we will make it safe, and we will explain in writing what we found.
- We are not responsible for pre-existing defects we did not cause, or for the performance of parts and appliances supplied by you.
Guarantee
Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion. Parts and appliances carry the manufacturer’s own warranty, which is usually longer and is frequently conditional on annual servicing. The workmanship guarantee does not cover fair wear and tear, damage caused by others, misuse, frost damage to a system left unheated, or faults arising from work carried out on the system by someone else.
Payment
- Invoices are issued on completion and are payable on the terms stated on the invoice.
- Larger installations may require a deposit to secure the appliance and the appointment, with the balance due once the system is commissioned.
- We accept bank transfer and card. We never ask for card or bank details through this website.
Cancellation rights
Where you agree work with us away from our premises — in your home, or online — you generally have 14 days to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask us in writing to start within that period and then cancel, we may charge for the work already done and materials already supplied. This does not apply to emergency call-outs you have specifically requested.
If something goes wrong
Tell us first. Ring 07490 623966 or email info@Figofoodsupply.uk and we will come back and look at it. We would far rather put something right than have you living with it. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which include the right to work carried out with reasonable care and skill.
Liability
We hold public liability insurance. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise our liability is limited to putting right the work we carried out.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
